Long Illness Claims Mother of Author

Private graveside service will be Tuesday for Mrs. Anna Shrewsbury Price, mother of author Eugenia Price and widow of Dr. Walter W. Price. Mrs. Price, 85, of 1511 Quarrier St. died Friday at home after a long illness. She had retired as a receptionist in her husbands office in 1958. She was a charter member of Central United Methodist Church, a teacher in the Adult Bible Class and director of music. She was a member of the Delphian Society and a charter member of the Edgewood Garden Club and the Woman's Auxiliary of Kanawha Valley Dental Society. Her daughter, of St. Simon's Island, Ga., is best known for her books "Beloved Invader" and " Lighthouse."

Private graveside service will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday in Jarrett Cemetery, Elkview. Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. The family suggests donations be made to the Coastal Georgia Historical Society, St. Simons Island, or Central United Methodist Church.
