Leo M. Nolz, 76, Bismarck, died Dec. 7, 2003, at a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, with the Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Cemetery, north of Zeeland.

Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Leo was born April 14, 1927, in Zeeland, N.D., the son of Andrew and Anna (Feist) Nolz. He farmed south of Zeeland and was especially proud of his Hereford cattle. Leo married Anna Silbernagel (Schaffner) on June 10, 1969, in Zeeland, where they resided until moving to Bismarck on Aug. 9, 1997.

Leo entered Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center on Nov. 1, 2000.

He leaves his wife, Anna Nolz, Bismarck; his stepchildren, Frank (Dorothy) Silbernagel, Kent, Wash., Mary (Bob) Volk, Herreid, S.D., Jane (Tim) Heier, Hague, Dan (Jackie) Silbernagel, Joe (Phyllis) Silbernagel, Larry (Kathy) Silbernagel, Leo (Gloria) Silbernagel, Bernie (Dave) Levi, Rita (John) Pfeifer and Sue (Wayne) Materi, all of Bismarck, Betty (Tom) Brandner, Heber City, Utah, Ron (Janet) Silbernagel, West Fargo, Angie (Randy) Levi, Hettinger, Quentin (Holly) Silbernagel, Puyallup, Wash., and Dave (Renae) Silbernagel, Moffit; three sisters, Helen (Ray) Wolf, Zeeland, Ricki (Jerome) Senger, Strasburg, and Rosemary Nolz, Jamestown; and six brothers, Eugene (Rose) Nolz, Aberdeen, S.D., Martin (Ann) Nolz, Napoleon, Joe Nolz, Napoleon, Francis (Ann) Nolz, Linton, Pius Nolz, Wells, Nev., and Andy (Liz) Nolz, Marion, Iowa.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Anna Nolz; one brother, Aloysius Nolz; one stepson, Tony Silbernagel; and two nephews, Mark and Sheldon Nolz.
