Peter Lewis Byrd

Peter Lewis Byrd's father was James Louis Byrd and his mother was Julia Martha (Perdue) Byrd. Grandparents were Benjamin Byrd and Susan A. (Caine) Byrd and John Otis and Asenath Ann (Bennett) Pardue all lived and died in Franklin County, Virginia.

Peter's father enlisted in the Confererate Army on March 25, 1862 and was a private in Franklin's Rangers. James was listed as a teamster for his brigade. James was also a farmer in Redwood, Virginia on the Old Island Road. He married Julia (Perdue) Byrd on October 4, 1858 in Franklin County, Virginia.

Peter Louis Byrd, 67 years, 1 month and 12 days old, of R.F.D., Portland, Missouri died at 10:30pm on November 2, 1937 at his home.

Dr. L.W. Oberkrom, of Readsville, Missouri, pronounced death caused by Stroke of Paralysis of right side, affecting side (apoplexy) contributed to by chronic nephritis. Informant was Mrs. Glenwood Knipp, daughter of the deceased.

Peter was born September 20, 1870, in Redwood, Virginia, the son of James Louis and Julia M. (Perdue) Byrd, both born in Virginia. He married Martha Ellen (Dudley) Byrd and she survives his passing. Peter was a farmer.

Arrangements were under the care of B. Bartin of Americus, Missouri. Burial was in the Old Auxvasse Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
