Thomas Jr. was buried in the burial ground behind the Swing Cemetery. About two hundred years later, in 1960, his gravestone was accidentally unearthed by the son of Albert Fralinger, who was working there with a bulldozer. The stone was inscribed, “Here lyes the body of Thomas Harris Jr. who departed this life Feb. 6, 1759, age 29 years.”
He had to have his leg amputated, but something went wrong and he died shortly after the operation.
