Henry Caleb Young, Jr. was born March 8, 1924 in Minden, Webster Parish, Louisiana to Henry Caleb Young and Ora Bell Spurlock. He died November 25, 1945 in France from a jeep wreck.
He inlisted in the military, Septmber 21, 1943 and was killed November 25, 1945. He was a PFC in the 377th Parachute FA BN, 101st Airborne Division, US Army WWII. His Serial Number was 38-520-317. A Pension # XC-6,086,860 was shown.
In 1948 the military gave the families of the WWII dead, who were buried in foreign fields a choice to either have their bodies shipped home for reburial or to have them moved into military cemeteries.
An Application for a Headstone was made by his father, October 23, 1948 and verified November 1, 1948 and shipped from Columbus, MS. on December 2, 1948 to the Minden City Cemetery.
