Our g-Grandfather
Daniel Bair was born Dec 22, 1834 in Bird in Hand, Lancaster County, PA, the son of Daniel & Mary Ellen Heller Bair. He was married first to Barbara Weber in Cumberland Co, PA and they were the parents of seven known children: Benjamin, David, Mary, Anna, Martha, Henry, Elizabeth, all born in Cumberland Co.
His wife Barbara, died May 6, 1876 in Cumberland Co, PA and she is actually buried in the Winding Hill Mennonite Cemetery there along with their little son Henry Bair who was born in 1870 and died in 1871 at age 11 mos. There is a tombstone there for her. Thus you will see both links to her memorials.
Daniel Bair was married second to Clara Ann Resh and they were the parents of one known child, Daniel Resh Bair.

Daniel H Bair, aged 79 years 3 months and 26 days, an aged resident of this place, died Friday morning at 11 o'clock at his home 206 South Potomac Avenue, from infirmities of old age. He had been bed fast since last Sunday. Until that time he was able to be about in the house. Mr. Bair was born December 22, 1834, near Bird-in Hand, Lancaster County, the son of David and Mary Heller Bair. At the age of 5 years, his parents moved to upper Allen township, Cumberland County, where he lived until 10 years ago, when he came to Waynesboro, and resided here ever since. He was employed at the Landis Tool Company. He was a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church. He was an upright and highly esteemed citizen. Surviving are his widow, who was the former Miss Clara Resh; these children, Benjamin Bair and Mrs. Anna (John) Miller of Springfield Ohio, Miss Mary Bair, Miss Martha Bair, and Miss Elizabeth Bair, all at home, and Daniel Resh Bair of York; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Cassel, of Manheim, Lancaster County. Funeral, Monday, 1:30 P.M. Services at the house, conducted by Bishop Jacob Lehman, of Stoufferstown. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
