MISS MARY BAIR 1862 ~ 1943
Miss Mary Bair, aged 81 years, died on Monday at the Reformed Mennonite Home, 206 South Potomac street ,Waynesboro. She had been in failing health for several years. Miss Bair was born near Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, the daughter of Daniel and Barbara (Weber) Bair, and lived there until 1904 when she moved to Waynesboro where she had since resided. For nine years Miss Mary and her sisters, Miss Martha and Miss Elizabeth, operated the Bair maternity home. After the maternity home was discontinued and was taken over by the Reformed Mennonite Church and operated as a home for the aged, the three sisters were employed as matrons. Miss Elizabeth died three years ago. Miss Mary was a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church. Surviving is a brother Daniel Bair of York; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Miller Springfield Ohio, and Martha at home. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Reformed Mennonite Church, in charge of the Rev Joseph Byers. Burial was made in Green Hill cemetery.
