Bill was born on a farm near Bussey to Alexander and Mary (Bingaman) Spaur.
He was a farmer in early years and became a finish carpenter designing and building nearly one hundred kitchens.
He married Jean Phillips on September 29, 1946. They became parents to a son William Jr. (Audrey) of Pella and a daughter Mary Jean (Mike) Ferguson, of Silvis, Ill. Bill enjoyed his 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Vera Jane (Toots), three brothers, Floyd (Toddy), Ted, and Rex.
Bill was a past member of the Masonic Lodge was a great softball pitcher in the years gone by.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Bussey Methodist church with Rev. Jay Amundson officiating and interment in Liberty Cemetery near Bussey. Visitation will begin at 1 P.M. Thursday at the Gilbert Funeral Chapel in Bussey with the family present from 6-8 P.M.
For those desiring, memorials may be designated to the Bussey Methodist Church or Hospice of Pella.
