Although Mary's death certificate shows she was born in 1878, that is not correct. Mary was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In fact, she was member # 183 and joined in Feb 1891. The application does not include her full date of birth, but shows she was 19. As she would have celebrated her 20th birthday the next month, that shows she was born in 1871. Her descendants who have joined the DAR have given her birth date as 28 Mar 1871. She was enumerated on the 1880 census as age 9, which meshes with an 1871 birth.
She married Thomas Horton Sprinkle on 29 Oct 1895 in Washington, DC.
They had three daughters: Felicia Reeve (Eckhardt); Mary Donelson; & Wilhelmina Searcy (Manley).
