Gerd Behrens Eden, son on Henry B. Eden and Ida Wilhelmina, nee Bosten, was born June 6, 1886, near Belvidere, Nebraska.

He was baptized, confessed his faith, and was confirmed in the Trinity Evang. Lutheran church at Bruning, Nebr., and throughout his life was a faithful member of this congregation.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Signal Corps at San Diego, California, from March 4, 1918 until his honorable discharge from the Army, April 12, 1919.

He was a quiet, retiring disposition, but always ready to be of service to his fellow men, and was well liked by all who came in contact with him.

His two younger brothers, Louis and Ed, remain to mourn his departure. His mother died in 1931 and his father in 1933.

With the American Legion in charge, the funeral was held from the Bruning Mortuary and at Trinity Lutheran church. Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
