Mrs. Henry Eden passed away at her home southeast of Bruning last Sunday, Nov. 1, 1931. She attained the age of 74 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Mrs Eden was one of the very early settlers in this county having came shortly after her marriage in 1884.

Obituary:

Ida Wihelmina Boston, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Boston, was born, August 18, 1857 at Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois.

Her Christian parents reared her in the fear and admonition of the Lord and, having been duly taught what the word of God teaches concerning man, God and the Savior Jesus Christ, she publicly confessed her faith in the Triune God on her Confirmation Day, March 21, 1870, at Minonk Illinois. She renewed the covenant which God had made with her in her infancy in Holy Baptism. And she kept the covenant faithfully to her end.

Throughout her life as girl, wife, mother and neighbor, she conducted herself as a true Christian. The Word of God was a light unto her feet, and Christ the example after which she patterned. Christ was hope, her rod and staff. Her Christian faith enabled her to be faithful in her duties toward her family, toward her neighbors, and patiently to bear for many years ill health.

On October 1, 1884, she entered into holy wedlock with Hinrich B. Eden. The marriage was solemnized at her birthplace, Bloomington, Illinois.

Shortly after their marriage they came to Nebraska, engaging in farming southeast of Bruning, where they have continued to reside to this day. Their wedded life was blessed with three sons; Gerd, Hinrich Louis and Ede B.

Mrs. Eden's health has been delicate for over 30 years, yet she was able to manage her household until October 14 of this year. Then she was taken seriously ill, and after an illness of 18 days fell asleep in Jesus, last Sunday afternoon, November 1, at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 13 days.

The immediate mourners are her aged husband with whom 47 years the deceased shared faithfully the joys and sorrows of life, her three sons, her brothers: Louis Boston of Flanagan, Ill., Otto, Fred, Edward and Henry Boston of Minonk, Ill., her sisters: Mrs. Anna Rapp of Pontiac, Ill., and Mrs. Amelia Spires of Minonk, Ill., beside a goodly number of more distant relatives and a host of friends.

Her parents, one brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Because of her Christian faith, we believe she has entered into the rest which is promised to the people of God.

If it were possible for the dead to speak to us who live on earth, no doubt, this departed wife and mother and all sainted believers in Christ would say in the words of the 16th Psalm: "The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant
places; yea, I have a goodly heritage." May it comfort the hearts saddened by this dispensation of God.

Funeral services were held at the house of the mourners and at the Lutheran Church on Wednesday afternoon, November 4th.

The interment was on the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
