Pearl Wells Sullivan, 85 passed away Sunday November 30, 2003 at Nash General Hospital. She was born October 7, 1918, in Rocky Mount, daughter of the late Asa Garfield and Hattie Wells. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was extremely active. Pearl operated Sullivan's Grocery for 17 years with her husband, then worked with her sister as assistant manager for Farm Journal magazine for about 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Marshall Sullivan.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, George Marshall Sullivan, Jr. and wife Nancy Sullivan of Fayetteville; grandson, George Marshall Sullivan, III of Sanford; granddaughter, Leigh Sullivan Clavin of Matthews; and two great grandchildren, Cameron Marshall and Connor Alexander Clavin.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, December 3, 2003 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bowling Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home. The Rev. Peggy Rogers Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 1200 Old Wilson Road, Rocky Mount 27803.
