Mrs. Hattie J. Wells
Mrs. Hattie Jones Wells, 79, died Sunday in Raleigh. She was a native of Salisbury and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jones of Salisbury and Raleigh

She was the widow of Asa G. Wells, and had been a resident of Rocky Mount for the past 50 years. Mrs. Wells resided on Wilson Road and Friendly Oak Rest Home until two years ago, when she became a patient of a Raleigh hospital. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Gay-Yost Funeral Home. The Rev. William E. Thompson will be in charge. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.

Surviving are two sons, Walter of Rocky Mount, and George of Portsmouth, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. C. T. Spencer of Raleigh, Mrs. G. M. Sullivan, and Mrs. H. R. Harrell of Rocky Mount; four brothers, Henry, James, John and Howard Jones, all of Raleigh; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Marshburn of Raleigh; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the home of Mrs. G. M. Sullivan of Cokey Road Extn.

Active pallbearers will be B. A. Williams, Van B. Greer, C. C. Price, C. B. Jordan, O. C. Merritt, Jr. and T. W. Goolsby.
