John H Allen, 66, is Laid to Rest
John Harvey Allen, 66, native of Arkansas, who had spent most of his life in Houston where he resided on Route 3, died at 11 pm, Friday, June 12, at the Houston Hospital.
Services were conducted from the Macedonia Methodist Church at 3:30 pm, Saturday with the Rev. W F Clark, the Rev. Clayton Clark and the Rev. J F Hartley officiating. Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Allen, who was born May 8 1898, was the son of Rand Allen and Nancy doss Allen.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lera Gann Allen of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Vance of Houston; four sons, Charles Marion Allen, Thomas Elkin Allen, James Osher Allen and David Wilburn Allen of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Bilbo Faulkner of Texas, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
