HABICH, LURA BAYNE, 99, of Louisville, passed away May 1, 2008. She was born August 26, 1908, in Cecilia, KY and was a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church. Lura Bayne was a loving, caring, devoted and generous person, who will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Generose and Frank Habich; a sister, Catherine; a brother, Charles Habich; and two very special friends, Fran Dolbeare and Joan Sharp. She is survived by her nieces, Elizabeth Habich, Nancy Demeter (Gene), Terri White (Tom) and Vicky Schmitt (Warren); a nephew, Charles Aud Habich Jr.; special friends, Ben McQuese and Pete Sharp; her longtime assistant, Alice Davies; a devoted and trusted friend, Jeff Filcik; and a host of family and friends. Special thanks to her caring physician, Dr. David Overly. Funeral Mass will be held noon Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, Bardstown Road at Edenside Drive, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. Expressions of sympathy to: Mass of The Air, St. James Church or Father Maloney's Boy's Haven. Buried, 5-10-2008, in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, Ky; Section 9; Lot 203 W-1/2.
