CHARLES AUD HABICH, 95, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at Salisbury Center Genesis Elder Care. Born in Cecilia, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Frank L. and Genarose A. Habich. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Elizabeth Miller Habich. Mr. Habich graduated from the University of Louisville with a BS degree in engineering and took additional course work at Harvard. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in World War II and received Philippines Liberation medal with 2 stars, American Theater Service Medal Asiatic-Pacific service medal and victory medal. He retired from Hercules, Inc., in 1984 but continued as a private consultant. He was a licensed professional engineer. Memberships include: Men of Malvern, ISA Professional Engineer Organization, Rose Society, he was an avid rose grower, and the University of Delaware Academy of Life Long Learning. He is survived by a son, Charles Aud Habich Jr. of Williamsburg, VA; a daughter, Virginia E. Habich of Salisbury, MD; a sister, Lura Bayne Habich of Louisville, KY; four nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Mumma. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 29, 2004 at 11 am at St. Francis Renewal Center. Father Tom Pietrantonio will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to St. Francis Renewal Center, 1901 Prior Rd., Wilmington, DE 19809 or Malvern Retreat House, 315 Warren Ave., Malvern, PA. 19355-0315. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, MD 21804.
