Funeral services for Vinnie Tomlinson, 101, Noonday, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Noonday United Methodist Church with Rev. Christi Conway and Chaplain Rhett Ansley officiating. Burial will follow at Noonday Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tomlinson passed away peacefully Sept. 16, 2008. She was born Nov. 5, 1906, in Opelika to the late Jesse James Ball and Rhoda Jane Motes. She was a homemaker and member of Noonday United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harvey L. Tomlinson; grandson, Bobby Glaspie; and twin sister, Minnie Cannon.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Beverly Tomlinson, James and Mindy Tomlinson; daughters and son-in-law, Marcia and Marion Carruthers, Martha Jo Tomlinson; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Tomlinson, Rusty Eaton, Mark McBride, Luther Hendrix, James Harvey Tomlinson and Austin Carter Elliott.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Noonday United Methodist Memorial Fund, 17320 Texas Highway 155 S., Flint, 75762; or Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.
