She was born on December 30, 1938 in Arcola, MO. Charlene was the daughter of the late Charles Yates and Eunice "Farmer" Yates.
She was a Carthage High School & Pittsburg State University graduate.
Charlene dedicated 28 year of her life to teaching physical education and coaching, "Mrs. McD" as she was affectionately known by her students.
She began her career in Neodesha, KS and spent several years at the Carthage Senior High School and retired from the Carthage Junior High School.
She managed the Carthage Municipal pool for many years.
Charlene married Robert A. McDaniel March 7, 1963, he survives.
Charlene leaves behind fellow members of the Center Point Christian Church, her coffee group, the retired teachers, CHS Classmates of 1956, the extension club of Jasper County, the library book sales and the Red Hats.
