William Owen Oliver, 84, of Columbia,
died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at his
home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 14, at Parker Funeral
Service with the Revs. John Baker and
Robert Russell officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery.. Visitation will be from
6 to 7:30 p.m. Firday, Oct. 13,
at the funeral home.

Mr. Oliver was born Aug. 31, 1916, in
Boone County to Jacob and Mary
Frances Alton Oliver.

He married Mary Woodson on Sept 6,
1940, and she survives.

He graduated from Hickman High School
in 1934 and served in the Army with
the airborne forces during World
War II.

He worked for Epple Construction for
46 years as a painting superintendent.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Other survivors include a daughter,
Gwen Jaynes of Bloomington, Ill.; four
brothers, Edward Oliver, Frank Oliver,
Jack Oliver and Richard Oliver, all of
Columbia; a sister, Mary Frances
Reddick of Mexico, Mo.; two grand-
children; and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
