Giles K Cessna Caught Under Logs When They Shifted

Injured fatally when he was caught under heavy logs which shifted from the truck he was driving, Giles Kenneth Cessna, of near Elderton and who would have been 21 years old November 21 next, died in Kittanning Hospital at 4 am today. His brother-in-law, Mr. Claypool, riding with him, jumped from the truck and was uninjured.

The accident occurred at the Wright sawmill at Para, Kittanning township, Armstrong County. He was a son of Frank and Edna Pearl (Kough) Cessna. He was one of 13 children and the first of them to pass away. Surviving with the parents are these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Zelma Claypool of Ford City; Verge Cessna of Elderton, Mrs. Rosie Elgin of Indiana, Charles and Clyde of Shelocta and Keith (a twin of the deaseased) Ward, Clarissa, Merle, Laura, Mildred and Mary, all at home.

Also surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lydia (Walker) Cessna, a son, Wayne and a daughter, Pearl and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kough of Shelocta.

The deceased was a member of the Mt. Union Lutheran Church, where services will be conducted at 10:30 am Monday, in charge of the Rev. Robert Richter. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
