Mrs. Martha Strasman, 91, formerly of rural Kiel, died Saturday afternoon, August 23, 1986, at Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein, where she had resided for the past five years.
The former Martha Wriedt was born January 26, 1895, in rural Kiel, daughter of the late Henry and Mary Radder Wriedt.
She attended Town of Schleswig schools.
On October 5, 1914, she married Benjamin Strasman in New Holstein. Mr. Strasman died January 6, 1973.
Mrs. Strasman was a member of the Kiel Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She is survived by one son, Archie of Sturgeon Bay; one daughter, Mrs. Mae Lee of Joliet, Illinois; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Alvina Ninmer of rural Kiel, and Mrs. Viola Ninmer of Kiel.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and six sisters.
The funeral was Tuesday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. George Enovoldsen, presiding minister of Kiel Jehovah’s Witnesses, officiated. Burial was in Eaton Cemetery in the town of Eaton.
