He was a member of the Glade Freewill Baptist Church and the Hamilton Township Fire Department. He was also a trustee for Hamilton Township.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline Jayne Shear, two sons, Herbert of Piketon, and Roy Lee of Grove City, and one daughter, Norma Jean Colanere of Columbus. Also surviving are one brother, Henry of Minford,and two sisters, Mae Downey of Minford, and Mary Cochran of Oak Hill.
The services were held today at 2 p.m. at Howe-Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Moore officiating.
Burial was in Bailey Chapel Cemetery.
