Mrs. Effie Mae Downey, 86, of Brame Road, Minford Route 1, died Wednesday at Sterling Best Care Nursing Home in Wheelersburg. She was a native of Madison Township, Scioto County, and a member of Madison Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Damon T. Downey, preceded her in death in October 1978.
Surviving are two sons, Darrell Lee Downey and Renice Dale Downey, both of Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Rose Mary) Crabtree, of Minford Route 1; a brother, Henry Shear of Minford; a sister, Mary Cochran of Oak Hill; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside service is Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Bennett Cemetery, with the Rev. Julius Chandler officiating.
