He was married to Madge Robinson Best Starr

Frank Best, 84, of 908 Old Metal Road, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his residence.

Born in Andrews, N.C., he was the son of the late Joseph Best and Nettie Adams Best.

He retired as a 1st Sergeant from the U. S. Marines Corps after 25 years of service and was a member of the Marine Corps League and the VFW. Mr. Best was a member of Northeast Fellowship Church of God.

He is survived by three sons, Randy Best, Richard Best and Ronnie Best, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Rebecca Burl and husband, Michael of Gaffney; a sister, Beulah Harris of Gaffney; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Blakely Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Garner and Mr. Jerry Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Memorials may be made to Northeast Fellowship Church of God, "Building Fund", P.O. Box 1137, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.

The family will be at the residence.
