THOMAS H. CABLE RETIRED MINER DIES AT AGE 92
Thomas H. Cable, 92 a retired coal miner and a resident of this city since
boyhood, died at 5:55 o'clock this morning in St. Vincent Memorial
hospital following a short illness.
He was admitted to the Hospital, Saturday from the Taylorville Nursing
home where he had resided the last few years.
Mr. Cable was born at Salem, January 25, 1870. He came to Taylorville at
the age of 12 years and since had resided here. He followed the occupation of
a Coal Miner for many years, retiring about 1932-1933. He was a member of
Local NO. 9 Progressive Mine Workers of America.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. D. L. Olson of Lake Villa and a grandson,
George Thomas Marron, Waterloo, N.Y.
The body was removed to the Masterson and McManus Funeral Home where
Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival here tonight of Mrs.
Olson.
