Priva first practiced dentistry in Vileika, a village NW of Minsk. She wanted to be a doctor and enrolled at a psychoneurological institute in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was allowed to live in Petersburg only if she worked at her profession of dentist. She found a part-time "job" (for no pay) at a dental clinic, and she attended classes at the institute. After 8-9 months, her money was gone. Priva then opened a dental partnership in Tzibulov, Ukraine with a former classmate. They later started a joint practice in the town of Stavishte, Tarashcha District, Ukraine. Priva established a solo practice in Stavische in 1914.
Priva & family arrived in the U.S. in 1922 and settled in Syracuse NY. They later moved to Buffalo, and came to Los Angeles in the late 1930s. Priva was active in the Pioneer Women, a Zionist women's organization that later changed its name to NA'AMAT USA. Priva and her husband Jack were also active in the Zionist Organization of America and Poale Zion.
