Mrs. Gertrude Petrie {aka: Gertrude Franzen}, 96, a native of Charlesburg, died Wednesday at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Fond du Lac, where she had been a resident for three years.
She was born at Charlesburg May 12, 1863, the daughter of Karl and Anna {Marie Krietz} Franzen, and was married to Peter Kraus Nov. 25, 1884. Mr. Kraus died in 1915.
On Aug. 23, 1920, she was married to Jacob Petrie who died Oct. 16, 1943.
Mrs. Petrie had spent most of her lifetime in the Fond du Lac area.
Surviving are five step-daughters.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fond du Lac at 9 a.m. Saturday {Mar. 26} with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Chilton.
