Died – At his residence in this city, on Sunday August 31, 1884, Mr. Carl Franzen, aged 68 years. Mr. Franzen was a native of Prussia, Germany but has long been a resident of this country. He removed from his home in Brothertown, to this city last spring, and intended to remain here the rest of his days and enjoy the fruits of his earlier years. He was popular with all who knew him. His death resulted from pneumonia, after an illness of eleven days. The funeral, Wednesday, from St. Mary's church, was largely attended. He leaves a wife, two sons and five daughters.
