Fred was the son of Robert Frederick Sauer and Elizabeth Sherman. On 07 Sep 1904 he married Annie G. Eschman and they had three children: Leona, Elsie, and Florence. He was employed for many years in the plumbing industry. Fred died of spleno medullary leukemia at his home, 214 N. 26th Street, at the age of 45.
