CROSBYTON - Services for Vera Knott Steele, 84, of Crosbyton will be at 2:30 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

She died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born Sept. 16, 1916, in Milford. She married Ancil Roy Steele on Sept. 5, 1932, in Portales, N.M. He died Dec. 16, 1997.

She worked for 30 years at Crosbyton Hospital as a licensed vocational nurse. She was a member of the Crosbyton Senior Citizens and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Connie of Houston; a daughter, Annette Cootes of Austin; three sisters, Bobbie Summerford of Crosbyton, Marie Lindsey of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jane West of Lubbock; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
