Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock.
She died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001.
She was born in 1914 in Ellis County and spent her early years on the family farm. She graduated from West Texas Hospital Nursing School with honors and soon after that married Bill West. He died in 1987. She worked for Dr. Sam Arnett for more than 30 years and did some private nursing.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. She also was active in the Lubbock Women's Club and Women's Forum.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Ward of Fort Worth; two sisters, Bobbie Summerford of Crosbyton and Marie Lindsey of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.
