By this time, Harold and Edith had eight children, all born in Oklahoma: Opal, age 13; Claude, age 12; Frances, age 11; Howard, age 8; Orval, age 6; Lela, age 4, Lilly, age 3 years 7 months; and Martha, age 1 year 5 months.
On November 9, 1930, the children's mother died. Edith was buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Sometime after that, Harold married again to Lula A. (maiden name unknown), who was born September 25, 1906.

Opal married John Coy Barnes, who was born December 5, 1916, in Oxford, Arkansas (Izard County).
