The Rev. Winfred Summers Dawson, 83, of Charleston died June 11, 1997, on Sissonville Drive from injuries received in a fall.
He was the son of the late Daniel Summers Dawson and Mary Katheryn (Lilly) Aultz.
He was a retired mail carrier in Charleston with 26 years' service, an ordained minister with the West Virginia Gospel Tabernacle Association, a member of Riverview Gospel Tabernacle, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving: wife, Mary Buckley Dawson; daughters, Lillian Hunter of Charleston, Linda Chambers of Boulder, Colo., Barbara Hess of Sissonville; sisters, Erna Dawson of Charleston, Helen Saunders of Dunbar; brother, Dr. Rank O. Dawson of Charleston; seven grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Valley Grove Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Allen Midcap officiating. Burial will be in Dawson cemetery, Sissonville.
