---Nora E. Mock, daughter of Sampson and Lutitia Mock, was born February 1, 1878 near Gifford, Missouri and died at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Don Crawford of La Plata, Missouri, March 19, 1948 at the age of seventy years, one month and nineteen days.
---She was united in marriage January 12, 1898 to John Allen. To this union five children were born, Mrs. Gladys Smith of Gifford, Mrs. Virgil Crawford and Raymond Allen of La Plata, Mrs. Ruby Dille of Moravia, Iowa and Mrs. Hazel Fletcher of Elmer, Missouri.
---She united with the Christian Church early in life and remained faithful until death. Her high regard for Christianity and her great love for her home was readily recognized by all. She spent most of her life near Gifford, having moved to Elmer two and a half years ago.
---Besides her husband and children she leaves five grandchildren, four brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
---Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church at Elmer by Rev. Pearly Linn of Queen City, Missouri. Burial was in the Elmer cemetery.
