Seaman Second Class Calvin Jackson Amos was included in the casualty list reported by the War and Navy Departments January 28, 1944. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newton Amos of near Delta, Missouri. His parents had been officially notified December 9th that he was missing following the torpedoing of the escort aircraft carrier USS Liscome Bay by the Japanese in the Pacific.
