Theodore J. "Ted" Overfield, of Avondale, Arizona, formerly of Leavenworth, died Friday, September 4, 1962, at Goodyear Arizona Hospital. He was 60.
Mr. Overfield was born June 19, 1932, in Leavenworth, the son of Scott W. and Florence Belle Hill Overfield. He lived in Leavenworth before moving to San Diego, California in 1963. He moved to Avondale, Arizona, in 1986.
Mr. Overfield was an editor for Chilton's Automotive Manual Company in San Diego. He retired in 1985.
Ted was a 1950 graduate of Leavenworth High School. He was a Catholic. He was an Army veterean of the Korean War.
Survivors include three brothers, Nelson Overfield, Yuma Arizona, Loyd J. Overfield, Leavenworth, and Charles "Gene" Overfield, Leavenworth; three sisters, Laura Magnussen, Maxine Dunbar and Rose Stewart, all of Leavenworth.
He was preceeded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends from 11:30am until service time Wednesday at the Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9am Wednesday.
Graveside services will begin at 1:30pm Wednesday at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the University Medical Center at Tucson, Arizona.
