Funeral services for Mr. Gary "Coach" Michael Ashworth, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2010 in the chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Joey Rudisill officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery, Oakdale.
Mr. Ashworth, age 55, of Rosepine, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was a native of Oakdale, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Oakdale High School and Arkansas College, and was currently working on his masters degree at Northwestern. He was a longtime Coach and Educator. He dedicated his life to coaching and mentoring the youth for many years. He was loved and well respected and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Wampler Ashworth; one nephew, Kirk Alan Ashworth; brother-in-law, C.C. Willis.
He is survived by one son, Eric Stephen Ashworth of Pollock; father, Earnest L. Ashworth (Gene) of Pitkin; former wife, Barbara Ann Ashworth of Pollock; two brothers, Robert Andrew Ashworth of Sicily Island, Jack Huey Ashworth of Oakdale; one sister, Susan Belinda Willis of Gardner; also survived by many nephews and nieces along with his girls.
