Mrs. Carrie Hawkins, 80, formally of 600 S. Scott, was dead on arrival at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, at 11 p.m. Monday. She had resided in Dayton with her daughter, Mrs, Charles Dawson, for the past three years. Born Sept. 17,1885 in Allen County, she was the daughter of Allen D. and Nancy Jane Driver Joseph. Her husband, Horace B., died in 1942. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles Dawson and Mrs Lawrence (Floris) Bame of Arlington, O.; a step son, H. B.Hawkins of Lafayette;
three step daughters, Mrs. C. K. (Mildred) Fetter of 747 W. Market; Mrs. Claude (Helen) Peterson of Jenera and Mrs. Calvin (Olive) Early of 3132 Berryhill Rd.; a brother, Elmer J. Joseph of Mc- Comb; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Tafflinger of 421 S. Dewey: Mrs.
L. W. Driver of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Mrs. Arthur St. John of Camden, Mich, and Mrs. Lawrence White of Nappannee, Ind.; 17 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. She was a member of the B & O Veterans Auxiliary and the Mack Memorial Church of the Brethren, Dayton. -
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Elm Street Church of the Brethren. Rev. Earl Lehman and Rev. R. H. Miller will officiate, and burial will be in Lewis Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lewis Memorial Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman from 7 p.m. today until 9:30 a.m. Friday, when the body will be removed to the church.
