Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of Capt. William T. Chase and Fannie Lee Beeler Chase. He was survived by his widow, Carrie Kamps Chase; a son S/Sgt. Gilbert P. Chase; two brothers, Gilbert Chase, Commander USN, retired of NY and W. H. G. Chase of White Stone; three sisters, Mrs. E. E. Lawson of White Stone, Mrs. D. Carter of Kilmarnock and Mrs. Fannie Staton of Williamston NC.
