KettleWilliam Tell Chase, well known resident of St. John's County, died Friday at his home at Hastings, after an extended illness.

Mr. Chase was born in 1870 in Lancaster County, Virginia. He came to Florida some seven years ago, settling at Hastings.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Isabelle Chase of Hastings, and one son, Reginald Chase of Richmond, Va., three sisters, Mrs. E. E. Lawson of Whitestone, Va., Mrs. Raleigh Carter of Kilmarnoch, Va., and Mrs. James Staton of Williamson, N.C., and three brothers, Harry Chase and C. Chase of Kilmarnoch, Va., and Commander Gilbert Chase of the U.S. Navy.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, the interment being in the Evergreen Cemetery, St. Augustine.
