George David Couch, 87, of 45
Woodlawn Avenue died Saturday.

He was a son of the late William
Drayton and Jane Tinsley Couch
and retired from Woodside Mill, Dan
River, Inc., in 1960. He was a
member of Woodside Baptist Church
where he served as custodian for
sixteen years and was a member of
the Baracca Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his wife, Carrie Smith
Couch; five daughters, Frances
Byers, Edna Queen, Sue Freeman
and Faye Phillips all of Greenville,
Jane Queen of Raleigh, N.C.; two
sons, Edgar S. "Tobe" Couch of
Greenville and Ronald D. Couch of
Pelzer; one brother, C.P. Couch of
Greenville; one sister, Mary West
of Greenville; eleven grandchildren
and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Woodside Bap-
tist Church by Rev. Carl A. Fiske
and Rev. Wayne Turner with burial
in Graceland Cemetery.

The body is at the Jones Mortuary
where the family will receive
friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
The family will be at the home, 45
Woodlawn Avenue
