MRS. LAGLE FOUND DEAD IN OUTDOOR TOILET
-HAD PERHAPS BEEN DEAD ABOUT 30 MINUTES WHEN HER BODY WAS FOUND-HAD SUFFERED FOR THE PAST WEEK FROM DIZZY SPELLS-BORN IN MACON COUNTY, 74 YEARS AGO-SURVIVED BY 9 SONS AND DAUGHTERS-MOTHER OF LATE JIM DODGE, WHO WAS KILLED IN AUTO WRECK LAST AUGUST
Mrs. Josie Lagle, 74, wife of J.B. Lagle, was found dead in a outdoor toilet, at her home on N. Cherry St., at 7:30 Saturday morning. She had been having dizzy spells during the past week. Mr. Lagle missed her from the house. Presently he went out to look for her. He soon found her stone dead on the toilet. Dr. Dackett was called. She had been dead scarcely 30 minutes, when her body was discovered. She had suffered more or less from heart trouble, though she had been up and about.
The body was taken to the Konantz Funeral Home to be prepared for burial. It was understood Saturday that the funeral would not be set until Sunday, after telegrams had been received from her sons and daughters, who live in distant parts of the country.
Mr. & Mrs. Lagle were married Aug. 29, 1930. Mrs. Lagle's former husband was Joseph Dodge. She and Mr. Lagle lived two years near Milford and then moved to Lamar.
She ws born in Macon County, Oct. 4, 1862. She and Mr. Dodge were married there. The marriage of the deceased and her first husband was finally dissolved.
She is survived by nine children. Her eldest son, Jim Dodge was killed in a wreck on U.S. 71, south of Sheldon last August.
The surviving sons and daughters are Ed Dodge, who lives in the state of Washington, Willard Dodge, well-known auctioneer of Golden City, Mrs. Nona Stephens of Macon, formerly Mrs. Clyde Earp of this city, Charles Dodge, who resides in Nebraska, Mrs. Dave Andrews of Lamar, Harry Dodge, who lives in the state of California, Bob Dodge of Greenfield, and Mrs. Ida Bailey of Macon County.
