Rebecca Beams, born in South Carolina August 10, 1803 to Fielding Thomas Beams and Jeldon Holdzclaw. She passed away March 21, 1871 in Bogart, Carroll County, Missouri. The 1880 Census shows she was living with her son George Close in 1880 in Bogart, Carroll County, Missouri. She was raised in Green County, Kentucky. Obtained a "Loose Marriage Bond" February 19, 1920, Book B., surety by George Close and Fielding Beams. George and Rebecca sold their property in Green County, Kentucky on September 30, 1929 to John D. Spain and then moved to Menard County, Illinois, with at least five children, John G., Fielding B., Frances, William B., and James. After their move to Illinois, they had five more (at least); McGrady, Gabriel, Lewis W., Mary E., and George Robert.
From Illinois they moved to Madison County, Iowa about 1865. George died there in 1871 and Rebecca moved to Carroll County, Missouri with George Robert and his family about 1877. She is found with them in Stokes Mound Township near Bogard in 1880. She was nearly 77 years of age.
