Mrs. Bertha Johanna Jantz, 89, of West died Sunday in a local hospital.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jantz was a native of Leroy. Her husband Will Jantz died in 1965. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Jantz of Houston and Virden Jantz of Texas City; four daughters, Esther Leuschner of Robinson, Goldie Lander of West, Agnes Vehlow of Sacramento, Calif., and Dorothy Anderson of Lake Charles, La.; a brother, Walter Altus of Harlingen; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Johanna Jantz, 89, or West will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald, the Rev. Don Gibbard officiating. Burial will be in Gerald Cemetery.

Mrs. Jantz died Sunday in a local hospital.
