Ada Fay Floyd Smith, 83, of Summit Place, and formerly of 6 Maryland Ave., Greenville, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003.

Born in Lavonia, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Elbert "Bunk" and Essie Haney Floyd, and was the widow of Spurgeon Samuel Smith.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ and was retired from Milliken & Co., Judson Plant.

Surviving are daughters, Shelia Messier of Spartanburg, Brenda Smith of Greenville and Rhonda Borovicka of Simpsonville; sons, Jerry Smith and Rick Smith, both of Greenville; sisters, Ruth Clark of Panama City, Fla., Josephine Moncrief of Lavonia, Ga., and Edna Walker of Port Charlotte, Fla.; brothers, Armenus Floyd of Atlanta, Ga., and Herbert Floyd of Athens, Ga.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie F. Green; and three brothers, T.C. Floyd, Euford Floyd and Terrell Floyd.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West.
