Mr. Jim Palmer Taken By Death

James Housan Palmer, 72 died last Thursday and was interred Friday in Hopewell Cemetery.
He was born at Calhoun City, Miss. Sept. 5, 1874, and moved with his parents to Texas at the age of 11. He has made Normangee his home since that time. At an early age he united with the Methodist church of Rogers Prairie.
He was married to Miss Minnie Parker of Wealthy, April 12, 1896. They became the parents of six children, two of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, four children, two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Palmer Sandel, Normangee; Mrs, Gladys Grauman, Houston; two sons, Lee and Lamar, Normangee; 9 grandchildren; Louise and Palmer Sandel, Johnny Beth Palmer, Harold Donald and Gerald Grauman, Lee Ann and Judy Palmer and Janice Ray Palmer; one brother Gaston Palmer; 3 sisters Miss Lula, Mrs Marvin Hunt and Mrs. Fred Ward all of Normangee.
Funeral services were held Friday at 4 o'clock at the Methodist church with J. B. Davis officiation and Davis Cozart in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were, T. F. Hill, W. C. Novosad, B. N. Nash, L. C. Funderburgh, Seth Taylor, W. H. Holloman, Ivan Shannon and M. L. Bennett, Jr.
