Hazel Allen 1906-1922

Hazel L. Allen, 85, died at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook May 13, 1992. She was a resident of Bagley prior to entering the nursing home in August of 1989.
Hazel was born June 25, 1906, in Winsor Township, Clearwater County to Lauritz and Anna Ask. She attended rural schools in the Gonvick area and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Berner (rural Gonvick). As a young lady she started working for Garden Valley Telephone Company in Erskine and later working for them in Gonvick.
She married George Allen in Gonvick on September 6, 1930. The Allens moved to Bagley in 1950 and lived there until entering the nursing home in 1989. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bagley.
Survivors include her husband, George of Clearbrook; one son, Jerry of Bagley; one brother, Francis Ask of Glenwood, Minnesota; two sisters, Evelyn Nelson of Port Townsend, Washington and Myrtle Segreti of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by one sister, Cora and four brothers, Carl, Oscar, Arnold and Arthur Ask.
Her funeral was Saturday, May 16 at the Faith Lutheran Church, Bagley, with the Rev. Dennis Brovold officiating. Burial was in the Samhold Lutheran Cemetery, Gonvick, under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home, Bagley.
