GEORGE ALBERT LINDBURG
George Lindburg, was born in Geneseo, Illinois on June 13, 1868. At the age of tow years he moved to this community, where he has spent the rest of his life. He has held membership in the Bethesda Lutheran Church ever since the date of its organization. It might be said therefore that the departure of George Lindburg from this life marks the closing of one ear in the life of our church. Thus the ange of death has closed one more part in the history of our church.
On August 11, 1890, George Lindburg was united in holy matrimony to Lillie Pearl Linquist. These two lovers were extremely privileged in that they had the company of each other for nearly 57 years. To this union God gave the blessing children, four daughters, Antonia, Mayme, Elvira, and Lillian, and two sons, Ruben and Roy.
The past few years have found our departed friend in poor health. It was evident to all who knew and visited with him that he was growing weaker. However, when death’s angel called upon him little did anyone expect it for it appeared he was no worse than before. His summons came on Thursday evening at 10:00. It was a call to sleep, which sleep is continued even to this day. He had reached the age of 73 years, 9 months, and 14 days.
Those who are left to mourn his departure are many. Besides his wife and children, he leaves 19 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Two sisters, Miss Mary Lindburg and Mrs. Claus Abraham, Essex, and a host of friends.
