ARTHUR LINDBURG
Arthur Lindburg, 71, died at his home March 16. Funeral services were held at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Essex, Friday afternoon, March 19, the Rev. Carl Larson officiating. Burial was made in the Essex Cemetery.
Mr. Lindburg was born east of Essex and had lived in town about 50 years. At first he was engaged in the mercantile business and later, for 25 years, was an official of the Commercial National Bank. During recent years he had been secretary of the National Farm Loan Association in this district. He was a former mayor of Essex and also served on the school board and other local positions.
He is survived by his widow, Hilda, seven sons, and one daughter, all of whom were present at the funeral. The children are Earl of Essex, Mrs. C. S. Metteer of Riverside, California, Wallace of Rock Island, Illinois, Bernard with the U.S. Navy at Los Angeles, Ernest of Washington, D. C., Joe of Davenport, Harold with the U.S. Navy at Camp Lewis, Washington, and Fred at home.
Six of his sons were active pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers were officials of the National Farm Loan Association.

John Arthur Lindburg was born June 24, 1871 in Page County, Iowa to Abraham Nilsson Lindburg and Johanna Hanna Svensdotter Wallin. He died March 16, 1943 in Page County, Iowa. He married Hilda Falk on April 4, 1896.
