Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. McDaniel, well known residents of the district northeast of Carthage, will have been married 50 years Monday and will celebrate their golden anniversary at their home tomorrow when many of their large circle of friends will gather to congratulate them. Weather conditions permitting, many of the visitors will take their basket dinners which will be spread on tables in the yard of the McDaniel home. Others will call in the afternoon. A general invitation to their friends is extended.
Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel were married in Jasper county November 26, 1884 and the following spring moved onto the farm where they now reside and which has been their home continuously during that period. Mr. McDaniel is 75 years old and his wife is 68.
They are the parents of 10 children, eight of whom are living.
Mr. McDaniel was seriously ill a few months ago but is greatly improved now and able to be up and around the house.

Mr. McDaniel was born September 10, 1858 at Ozark in Christian county. He later made his home with an uncle and aunt in Springfield and attended Morrisville College. About 10 years before his marriage he came to Jasper county and worked in the McDaniel mill, now Morrow mill. two miles east of Carthage, for his uncle, F. M. McDaniel, with whom he made his home during those years.
Besides the 10 living children, Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel have 19 grandchildren. The children are: George McDaniel, Roswell, NM.; Walter McDaniel, Pico, CA.; Mrs. John Maxwell and Mrs. Ellis Wright, northeast of Carthage; R. E. Lee McDaniel, Springfield; Frank McDaniel, Jasper; Mrs. James Tullis, northeast of Carthage, H. B. McDaniel; Miss Elizabeth McDaniel and William McDaniel, all residing with their parents. All of the children except the two elder sons, George and Walter, were here yesterday for the anniversary observance.
Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel both are members of Center Point Christian church, northeast of Carthage. Mr. McDaniel a few months ago was critically ill but now is much improved and withstood the excitement of yesterday's many greetings well. Mrs. McDaniel is enjoying good health.
Both Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel possess exceptionally fine personalities and enjoy the universal friendship and admiration of those who know them.
Mr. McDaniel had been in ill health several years and the last several weeks he had been in a critical condition.
Mr. McDaniel was one of the most widely known farmers of Jasper county. For more than 25 years he was a breeder of purebred Jerseys and his sons H.B. McDaniel and William McDaniel have continued to operate the farm and Jersey business since. He was a member of the Center Point Christian Church.
Surviving Mr. McDaniel are 10 children, George McDaniel of Aurora, MO., Walter McDaniel of Pico, Calif., Paul E. Lee McDaniel of Springfield, Mo., Frank McDaniel, of north of Joplin, H.B. McDaniel, Carthage, route 1, and William McDaniel of the home, four daughters, Mrs. John Maxwell, Mrs. Ellis Wright and Mrs. James Tullis all of near Carthage, and Elizabeth McDaniel, also of the home.
The body was removed to the Knell mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Center Point Church,
